Vacom Systems has treated produced and frac flowback water in various geo-markets, ranging from North America to the Middle East. We have successfully managed water with high levels of H2S and over 250,000 mg/L of TDS. After extensive pilot testing with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Vacom has proven to be a technology of choice for managing Power Plant effluents. By removing Selenium, Mercury and Misc. Heavy Metals, the distillate is capable of reuse or discharge. At a large installation for a coal-fired power plant in China, the crystallized salts are recovered.
Customers such as Eaton, YKK, Lockheed-Martin, Caterpillar and many others have used the Vacom system to manage their highly complex oily wastewater generated from the manufacture of metal parts. Machine tool oils, heavy metals, suspended solids, phosphates, surfactants and rust inhibitors such as Amines are removed and treated in a single step Vacom system. The result is clean water and a high BTU concentrate with oil contents ranging from 60-80% capable of use in a waste fuels program. The result is a residual waste with value rather than the generation of hazardous waste.
The Vacom WAS Hydrolyzer system uniquely has the capability to manage the sludge by rupturing the bacteria cell walls and releasing water. Pathogens are killed while removing clean water. Further, the resulting concentrated sludge is conditioned for mechanical dewatering to approximately 50-70% solids by weight.
The process has additional benefits by producing Class A Biosolids as a beneficial reuse option.
Also, the system generates a feed stock for anaerobic digesters to more efficiently generate renewable natural gas.
